Everyone's favourite investment banker is getting back into the OPM business that he does like no one else. He is spruiking a new $100 million fund to invest in the Melbourne Housing market.

Apparently this isn't a joke. Are people's memories really that short that they would trust honest Joe with their dough? He calls it a 'unique opportunity' in an investment class. So modest Joe. Pure spin and BS.

Anybody who invests with Joe & Co. may as well head straight to the casino and any developers who take their dough need their head read.

Although we are delighted to see Joe back in the market. Hopefully he'll have better luck this time.

Oh what could have been for the great man if only fate would have dealt him a better hand. Perhaps his timing was unfortunate. There must be some excuse for this brilliant man suffering such an ignominious ending.

What happened? Well the beloved Gersh Investment Partners Pty Ltd, a company that will go down in corporate history with the greats, is now just ACN 092 586 957, after filing a change of company name in November. It's over. The great man's website is defunct and we wonder if he is the guy in the hood sitting on the corner of Collins & Spring Street with the little piece of brown cardboard.

This blog will live on, keeping track of the great man as he no doubt reincarnates into the next big thing, with other people's money of course!

Why keep a low profile when you're so darn successful, that's right enforced modesty.

Hopefully Joe's property syndicate investors like to see their hard earn being developed into returns, for Joe. Joe will bring home the dough for sure, won't he?

Well, Joe has really proven an astute investor once again with his terrific investment in Octaviar (formerly MFS). Octaviar has appointed administrators and it doesn't look like it will be another super profit for Joe and his team.

Never mind there's more than one way to make money isn't there Joe... OPM.

Are they following the Starbucks route and are having an extra extra long coffee break perhaps?

Back in March this Year Joe was quoted as seeing opportunities in the market saying:

"You do need to be strategic in what you invest in,” . We’ve been around for a number of years, I’m sure we can handle this (downturn).”

So where has the deal maker Joe been? Is he trying to recruit his "buddy" Pete Costello to join him in a life of deals on Collins street? Is he taking over the Dubai property industry?

Or is he just trying to keep his head above water as the banks take a long hard look at his projects and their underlying assumptions.

Come on Joe, throw us a bone and let us know what you and your crack investment team are up to...
